Welcome to Every Dog, where the joy of sharing a life with your dog is the ultimate goal.
Every dog can be trained, and is deserving of the opportunity to learn and grow without the use of force, fear, or pain.
The Every Dog approach to training is ethical, compassionate, and accessible. Training can quickly become stressful and overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to! With every new client we will start by first understanding the unique needs of your dog, and household, in order to build individual plans focused on achieving your long term goals – without burning out. Training that fits into your real life, and sets a strong foundation of trust, is what will help you and your dog see real and lasting results.

Meet The Trainer
With a combination of 20 years dog handling experience, and specialized education,
Kelly’s goal is to help you enjoy life and training alongside your dog.
In reality it isn’t always easy to know how to start training, and can it quickly become stressful for both dog and handler. That’s where individualized support becomes a game changer. Kelly’s specialty is in helping open the world for dogs; socialization foundations for puppies, helping nervous dogs navigate new spaces and experiences, and supporting shelter dogs and adopters as they begin the next chapter in their life.
Her training centers the wellbeing of both dog, and handler. This means considering each individual household’s reality when it comes to skill level, time, and access to resources. Every dog is as complex an individual as their handler, and training is most successful when individual needs are considered and met.
All methods used are based in positive reinforcement and can include the use of play, food, and natural behavior expression to achieve results. Every dog is capable of learning without the use of force, especially when training is accessible, thoughtful, and supported. All clients receive written plans with training guidance and support, because good training doesn’t happen when you’re stressed about what to do, or why you’re doing it.
Kelly has worked closely with a wide variety of dogs, and and handlers throughout the years. She first began training at 11 years old with Heidi, the GSP family hunting dog, and together they participated in hunting trials. This amplified her love for training and dog sports, and led to years of work in shelters, dog day care, and a career as a dog trainer.
She has experience handling and training dogs dealing with reactivity and fear, with her first dog Captain having come from the behavioral and health euthanasia list who became a happy and confident dog. He went on to participate in weight pull and CRT, and supported foster dogs over the years. Currently she participates in FCAT and other Lure activities, Happy Ratters and Barn Hunt, and Trailing & Locating, with her little mutt Fern. She also has a special case shelter dog Willow, and together they’ve started scent games and CRT while focusing on socialization and building her confidence.
Kelly will work with veterinarians and veterinary behaviorists as needed to support clients, discover potential causes for behavior, and work toward a training plan that considers medical needs.
